Farmers Insurance is proud to be the founding sponsor of the Historia Competition where you can tell the world a story about a person, event, or place that is important to you or describe how Latino culture has directly impacted you.
This unique competition encourages students in grades 6 through 12 to submit their entries either as written compositions or documentary videos. Winners will receive prizes, as well as worldwide exposure on the bronzescreen.net web site and other prominent venues.

The Farmers Insurance Historia
competitions are for students interested in documenting the
Latino experience in words and images. These contests empower
young people to shape and tell stories important to them and
their communities. Students will be invited to submit their
historias as a written composition or as a documentary
video.
Students in grades 6 through 12 are invited to tell a historia.
You may select one of the following Latino themed categories:
1. A person of special significance to you (family, friend or
historical figure).
2. A meaningful place or location in Latino history.
3. A historical event from your communitys past.
4. How Latino culture has directly impacted you.
Awards based on grade level categories will be presented.
Winners will also be featured in local media and here on our
exclusive website: www.bronzescreen.net
Theme
Tell a historia (story) of a person, place, event or your own experience in Latino culture.
Eligibility
California students in grades 6 through 12 in any area served by the Los Angeles Times, San Diego Union Tribune or San Jose Mercury News.
Specifications
In addition to a signed and completed entry form, all applicable waivers must be submitted.

Written Composition
300-500 words
Typewritten, double-spaced
Printed on 8 1/2 x 11 paper
English Language
Must be an original submission by a single author
(no multiple author submissions accepted)
Documentary Video
2-5 minutes (TRT Total Run Time)
With or without audio/music
Color or Black & White
Acceptable media includes: VHS, Hi-8, Digital 8, and miniDV
(You may also submit on DVD)
Multiple collaborators are permitted in the video competition.
Students may submit more than one entry.
Students may only win one prize per category.
A separate entry form is required for each work submitted.
